Call for #NonElectricalDigitalArtworks

medialize.it launches a challange to contemporary art and artists expressing with new media.

Participants are required to present artworks conceived digitally which don’t use electricity power.

The Call for #NonElectricalDigitalArtworks is a special and sensible contest, unique in its genre, which intends to offer new critical leaps and to explore new ways of use of the emergent technologies.

For this special occasion we ask to conceive art as elaboration non-electric digital art as technological “remediation” and “transmediation” with particular attention to the theme of consume awareness and of the ecology.

The idea is to generate art as sensible elaboration of creative combinations of “0” and “1”, the elementary “on/off” conditions which, in the era of the information at the speed of the light, rule the lives of billions of people.

A Call for Art to propose alternatives to the heterodirect programming of the technologies we commonly use, an invitation to generate technology to activate a surprising elaborator first of any computer, our mind.

The artworks selected by a jury composed by experts, university researchers and teachers, masters from academies of fine arts, theoricians and institutional representants, will be exhibited on the 25th of February in the Rome Open Museum location of Casa della Cultura of Villa De Sanctis and in the other locations of the Venue.
